Redwood survey and replacements

  1. Confirm the record. Mark the actual 2026 planting boundary and acres; establish how many plugs were planted there. Keep the earlier trial separate.

  2. Prepare final geographic sample points. The recovered forty-point map is provisional. Dave or a forester finalizes it before Eli uses it for navigation.

  3. Survey after the first summer. Use the guide and forms; do the first three plots together and retain every planned record and separate gap observation.

  4. Review findings and reservations. Resolve uncertain/edge/skipped plots, agree on future stocking, check empty spaces and confirm the nursery reservation before deciding an additional order.

  5. Select a planting window. Consider fall 2026 or winter/spring 2027 based on moisture, weather, seedling availability and forester advice. Record replacements separately by planting year.
